The Homeowner’s Winter Roof Maintenance Guide

Before winter is in full swing, make sure you’ve taken the necessary steps to prepare your roofing system accordingly against the cold and frost. This is simple enough to do once you know the essentials. Your Professional Roofer LLC, the premier residential and commercial roofing company in the area, shares some roof maintenance tips to get you started.

  1. Have your roof checked thoroughly. A visual roof inspection won’t do this time. Your roofing system may look intact, yes, but it may have sustained damage that’s not visible from the ground. When exposed to the biting winter cold, the hidden damage can worsen and leave the system more susceptible to leaks. For this reason, turn to a trusted local roofing expert, Your Professional Roofer LLC, for a comprehensive roof inspection. Our trained and experienced team will check every inch of your roof and, should we find issues, recommend the appropriate solution.
  1. Don’t put off repair work. Any type of roofing problem should be dealt with immediately before winter sets in. This way, you can keep your home warm and comfortable, and head off expensive repair work resulting from overlooked damage. Do you have patches of damaged shingles on your roof? Perhaps your gutters are clogged and sagging, or there are issues with your attic ventilation. Whatever it is, make sure to call Your Professional Roofer LLC for timely and efficient roofing repair services.
  1. Make sure the flashing is intact. The flashing refers to thin, waterproofing material that covers the more vulnerable spots of your roof. These include the area around chimneys, valleys, skylights, vent pipes and dormers. When the flashing has crumbled or has been torn loose, it makes it easier for water and moisture to infiltrate your roof. Have it fixed immediately to eliminate the potential of roof leaks.

Aside from roof replacement, Your Professional Roofer LLC can also handle your roof maintenance needs. With our top-tier services, we’ll make sure your roof is prepped and ready to take on the challenges of winter. We proudly serve Saint Peters, MO and the surrounding areas. Call us today at (636) 866-5660 or fill out this contact form to schedule your roof evaluation.

  • Getting repair work done as soon as possible is definitely something I can see being important. Ignoring issues can end up making the repairs cost a lot more down the line, especially if it spirals into other parts of our house. Once I find a roofer in the area, I'll ask them to help me out with this kind of repairs and doing them quickly.
